Windows Vista
Below are the instructions for setting Windows Vista to Obtain an IP Address automatically:
- Open the Start Menu, and type the following into the white Search Box: ncpa.cpl
- Choose your network connection, right-click it, and select Properties.
- If you are using wireless to connect to your modem, choose the "Wireless Network Connection".
- If you are using an Ethernet cable to connect to your modem, choose the "Local Area Connection".
- Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
- Select "Obtain an IP address automatically", and also select "Obtain DNS server address automatically".
- Press OK, and then press OK again.
